Where can I see paid tasks?
View open roles & paid trial projects.
How do I start working on a task / how do I apply for a job?
Send us a message on slack! We'll then send over a Non-disclosure agreement (if required) and we'll discuss a few details about the task, job role, and what it is you're looking for. We'll then send you a brief contract with details of the task. The contract also explains that you'll be paid upon successful completion of the task. Once that's done, we'll set you up with the right GitHub permissions & any other resources required to get started.
What happens after the task is successfully completed?
Once the task is successfully completed (according to the clear acceptance criteria), we pay you in the next 7 days. Then, we'll set you up with a job interview for the role!
What is the difference between internships and miodo tasks?
Similar to internships, tasks on miodo are associated with job roles for companies. However, the average task takes between 1hr - 3 days to complete, unlike internships which usually last at least a couple weeks.
When do I get paid?
Each task comes with a specific acceptance criteria. Once you complete a task, the company will review and notify us if they want you to make changes, they will confirm if the task has been accepted or not. If so the payment is transferred as soon as possible, if not we ask the company to provide feedback.
It’s worth noting that tasks provide great insights into working for specific roles and companies and work as a replacement to the traditional technical interview process. We ask companies to provide small, short & self isolated tasks that take an average of 1hr - 3 days to complete.
How is the price for a task determined?
Each task has an associated role (whether the company is hiring right now or in the foreseeable future). The price per task is equivalent to the hourly rate of the role associated. For example, a task for a role with a salary of £100,000 works out to around £50 per hour.
I’m just a beginner, can I work on tasks?
Miodo is open to anyone of all experience levels - we plan on working with companies that hire junior employees and will be in touch if the roles suit your profile!
I want to complete tasks but am not looking for a job right now, can I still complete tasks?
We match candidates with tasks for companies that have a similar hiring horizon. We want to be as transparent as possible with both companies and engineers. This means we ask for a timeline of when you would be open for a new job and if you’re actively or passively looking for a job.
Whether you're actively looking for a new tech job, or you're considering changing role in the foreseeable future, we help you build relationships with companies before you join them.
I don’t live in the UK or US, can I still sign up to work on tasks?
Absolutely! We believe in equal opportunities for anyone in tech, regardless of your background or where you live.
Some companies will require candidates to be open for relocation and others will be able to sponsor visa’s. We will make this clear to you based on each task.
How are payments made?
We currently do SWIFT bank transfers that support most countries in the world and are working on including other payment methods for countries that don’t support SWIFT.

Where do you get technical talent from?
Members have signed up to miodo organically, from all over the world because they share our vision of transparency and equal opportunity in tech.
By paying candidates for real work instead of the traditional made-up coding tests during interviews, engineers have shared with us that they feel more equal, valued and appreciated. This sets the relationship from the beginning.
What’s the difference between miodo and outsourcing work?
Unlike outsourcing or freelancer websites, all tasks on miodo have an associated job role. Whether the role is open right now or in the foreseeable future, the intention is to build a long term relationship between candidates and companies then form a community of engineers that have worked on your tech stack, for you to access when hiring.
We’re not hiring but want to get some work done, can we still use miodo?
Yes! We match tasks with engineers that have a similar job placement horizons. We want to be as transparent as possible with both companies and engineers. This means we ask for a timeline of when you will be hiring for new roles and if you’re actively or passively recruiting.

How does the payment work?
Each task comes with a specific acceptance criteria, we ask all companies to make this as detailed as possible.
Once a candidate completes a task, we will notify you. If you want candidates to make changes then we facilitate this. If you accept the work, we aim to pay the candidate as soon as possible (will be in touch depending on the size of your budget). If the work does not match the acceptance criteria, we ask you to provide feedback for the candidate.
From a legal standpoint, do candidates own IP or have any liability?
If you need a candidate to sign a NDA and/or confirm that all IP belongs to the company prior to viewing or working on the task then we can facilitate this.
